Beans - Floozy
At only 850m from us, Newcastle local Floozy was founded in 2017 as a response to male bias in the coffee sector. Coffee roasting is male-dominated worldwide, as is the entire coffee supply chain. Floozy work to highlight and support female producers at origin, encourage other women coffee roasters, promote and train female baristas and coffee shop owners, and contribute to future gender disaggregated research within the sector.
Floozy’s goal is to promote and advance the women in coffee, showcase the talents of the ladies in the industry, and train up future generations of badass coffee chicks.

Using a range of fresh, locally sourced ingredients our menu will leave you satisfied every time. A lot of our fresh produce is from our friends and neighbours Local Crop!
At Minna, we strive to be a space for everyone and as such take the utmost care to prepare our food in a way that caters for a wide range of dietary needs, with a focus on providing the best and safest experience for you that we can. This includes a high level of care regarding gluten free food for our coeliac friends, animal products and byproducts for our vegan and veggo friends, and content and contamination awareness for allergens.
We, the founders of Minna, are young & passionate humans, keen to make our mark on the world. None of us could do it alone, but together we have made a team that has been able to bring our vision to life. Each of us has a part to play, but it's our ability to support one another with everything that truly keeps the cogs turning.
Tom: Our expert Barista. With nearly a decade of hospitality experience under his belt, it was Tom and Yasmin’s dream and vision that first brought the idea of Minna into the world. Studying a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Newcastle, Minna is not only a dream but a practical learning experience.
Yas: Our master of media. Having managed socials for a few uni clubs and projects, and with a general interest in media, Yas is our go-to-gal to sign off our writings, design, and image. Yas also has a great deal of experience in the fast food industry, which she uses to increase our efficiency and consistency in the kitchen!
Nick: Our culinary visionary. After running catering for events of 50 plus people and spending his past decade experimenting with food and beverage creation, Nick is our guy out the back. From our house-made kraut for our famous Reuben to the Avocado Aioli toastie itself, you'll love the house made twist Nick brings to our entire menu.
Hamish: Mr Versatile. What can we say about Hamo without going on for days! Hamish is the guy we can rely on to support us in any of our roles. Got your hands full and need a B&E Muffin finished and plated up? Hamo's your guy. Can't get away from the coffee machine to make the two milkshake orders? The king of milkshakes is all over it. Dishwashing piling up? The Moist One is there for you.
At Minna our vision is 2 fold. We strive to be the best cafe we can, priding ourselves on the quality of coffee, food and service. Each cup of coffee is expertly made by our highly trained baristas, brewed to perfection and served with a smile. Couple that with our simple, yet enticing menu, crafted to cater to your needs and tastes, we aim to provide a cafe experience unlike any other.
